Everything Will Come from the Sea

An island is not simply a territory surrounded by the sea. It is a way of experiencing the world.

The sea protects and separates at once. It defines a space where time, distance and our relationship with the territory take on another dimension. In this balance between refuge and isolation, the island ceases to be a specific place and becomes a shared experience.

These photographs do not seek to describe an island. They explore the human need to find a place in which to remain, recognise ourselves and feel that we belong to it.
